ABOUT ME

I am Bruise, the rainbow fever dream behind Bruise in Colour. I’m an artist from Sydney, Australia who has a mission to spread the infection of joy and colour. My world is not beige. My world is sequins, glitter, paint pens, tinsel, and Crocs (36 pairs and counting). I don’t want people to just look at my art, I want them to touch it, poke it, feel it, crawl inside it if they dare. Art, to me, is an interactive playground, not a museum piece locked behind ropes.

I want to live in a world permanently drenched in sunshine, rainbows, and butterflies. A sensory heaven where mirrors sparkle like disco balls, mannequins glow like neon saints, and every object has the potential to be bedazzled into a relic of joy. My practice is loud, unapologetic, and tactile. Acrylics, glitter, sequins, stop signs, fridges. Nothing is safe from transformation.

For me, creativity is both survival and rebellion. It’s the way I process a world that can feel overwhelming and grey. Every mannequin I bedazzle, every mirrored fridge tile, every rainbow-smeared canvas is a declaration: joy is radical, colour is contagious, and art is for EVERYONE.

My ethos is simple but feral:

  • Touch the art. Rub your hands on the glitter, trace the outlines, let your fingertips collect colour.
  • Play with the art. Sit in it, pose with it, laugh at it, cry with it.
  • Become infected by joy. Let it spread until the whole world is shimmering.

Bruise in Colour exists to remind you that life doesn’t have to be beige.  It can be a sensory explosion, a disco fridge, a rainbow wall, or a sequined stop sign.

My dream? To infect the world with joy until we’re all living in a delirious carnival of colour, resilience, and wonder.
